Join us on Zoom for our June Dock-u-mentaries screening and discussion of the film Voices in the Fog. We will be watching the film together on Zoom. Filmmaker Pedro Marnoto and former member of the Portuguese White Fleet Joaquim Pereira will join us after the film for a Q&A Discussion. Click here to join the Zoom meeting.
From 1900 to 1974, men traveled on large ships from mainland Portugal to fish for cod off the coast of Newfoundland and Greenland.Cod was such a valuable commodity, that men could avoid military conscription by “enlisting” as part of the White Fleet.
