Description: Two hand-stitched pillows created by seamstress Ruth Blount, whose skills are still in high demand on Nantucket Island where she and her fisherman husband Bill lived for over 40 years, before moving to New Bedford. Ruth Blount was featured in our Herstory Project in which young women in high school and college conducted oral history interviews with older women who have ties to the fishing community.
