Robert Hauser’s assemblage Swimming Against the Tide is a visually interesting collage of cradled wood, fishing lures, netting, and handmade paper measuring 30″x20″x1″.
A Cape Cod native, Hauser worked on charter fishing boats a young man out of Falmouth Harbor. He graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and the was the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts research grant. He also served as a technician and crew on the research vessel Chain with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Mr. Hauser lived in Mattapoisett before moving to New Hampshire where he resides today.
Busyhaus Art Works was formed in 1969 by the artist. The original artworks are mostly assemblages in the Kunstkammer museum exhibit tradition or art cabinets of curiosities. They like the purpose of art lives upon discussion, experiment, curiosity, variety of attempt, exchange of views and related to life if objects of art are to be instructive.
