In Reidar’s Life Journal From Norway to the USA!, Reidar shares insights from 30 years on the water: from his time fishing as a young man in Norway, to his experiences as a commercial fisherman in the New Bedford fleet and founder of Reidar’s Manufacturing, Inc. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and book signing. From the memoir: “Some years ago my wife gave me a blank composition book to begin writing down my life’s experiences, from my youth in Norway to my working days and life in the USA, with a focus on my involvement in the existing fishing industries. Personally, I have occupied positions from deckhand to captain. The New Bedford boats that I served on ranged from 60’ to 110’, including draggers and scallop boats, and both wooden and steel vessels. Many of the boats I served on are no longer around for various reasons – either sold, sunk or just retired. I pride myself on bringing them all back to the wharf without serious mishaps or damage over a timespan of 30 years.”
