Modelmaking Demonstration: Captain Alan Curtis
A career scalloper out of New Bedford, Alan Curtis has been making models of old-style Eastern Rig Scallopers for many years, often on commission from boat owners. His models are featured in our newest gallery exhibit, Fishboats: Art of the Industry, and he’s coming to the Center to talk about his craft. Drop in to the Center to hear from Alan from 1-3 PM on October 29. He will also be working on his current model and can answer your questions about the process! Be sure to stay for a while to check out the work of the rest of our Fishboats artists in the Gallery.
This will be the first in a series of monthly model making demonstrations to accompany our Fishboats exhibit programming. Check back soon for more dates!
